What Are We Fighting For? - Workshops en cocreatief project

“What Are We Fighting For?” is een participatief project dat ontmoetingen en dialoog in de publieke ruimte wil stimuleren, via interactieve formats en fysieke uitwisseling.

Met een reeks open workshops en gezamenlijke creatieve momenten willen we Gentenaars – en in het bijzonder mensen die elkaar (nog) niet kennen – samenbrengen rond gevoelige en actuele vragen over identiteit, emotie, conflict, samenwerking en collectieve verbeelding.

Het project richt zich op het ontwikkelen van nieuwe vormen en kaders die mensen op een speelse, fysieke en performatieve manier met elkaar in contact brengen. Geïnspireerd door de projecten van The People Speak, maar met onze eigen invulling rond thema’s als woede, identiteit, humor, groepsdynamiek, lichamelijkheid en veiligheid.

Na 4 inspiratie-workshops bij verschillende kunstenaars en activisten gaan we tijdens een driedaagse samen aan de slag om een eigen installatie te bouwen die getoond wordt op het Festival van de Gelijkheid in Gent in december.

“What Are We Fighting For?” is a participatory project that aims to spark encounters and dialogue in public space, through interactive formats and physical exchange.

Through a series of open workshops and collective creative moments, we want to bring together the people of Ghent – especially those who do not (yet) know each other – around sensitive and timely questions about identity, emotion, conflict, cooperation, and collective imagination.

The project focuses on developing new forms and frameworks that connect people in playful, physical, and performative ways. Inspired by the projects of The People Speak, but with our own spin on themes such as anger, identity, humor, group dynamics, physicality, and safety.

After four inspiration workshops led by various artists and activists, we will spend three days working together to build our own installation, which will be presented at the Festival van de Gelijkheid (Festival of Equality) in Ghent this December.
