Wat is CODE HART?

In een wereld waar technologie en menselijkheid steeds meer met elkaar verweven zijn, nodigt CODE HART jou uit om deel te nemen aan een verkennend traject. Samen werken we naar een première van een vernieuwende theatervoorstelling. In de maanden voorafgaand aan deze voorstelling gaan we aan de slag met nieuwe ideeën en concepten die de grenzen tussen mens en technologie verkennen.

🌍 Thema: menselijkheid in een toekomst vol technologie en metahumans

Stel je voor dat je in het jaar 2125 leeft en de wereld wordt bevolkt door mensen en metahumans—kunstmatig gecreëerde wezens die menselijk lijken, maar door technologie tot leven zijn gebracht? Wat betekent het om mens te zijn in zo’n samenleving? Hoe beïnvloedt de opkomst van metahumans ons begrip van onszelf en onze relaties?

Ons project, geïnspireerd door het boek Echo Boy van Matt Haig, onderzoekt deze vragen en schetst een toekomst waarin technologie ons steeds meer beïnvloedt. Samen proberen we niet alleen dystopische of utopische toekomstbeelden te schetsen, maar creëren we een protopisch toekomstbeeld—een realistische visie waarin mens en technologie in harmonie samenleven.

🤝 Waarom deelnemen?

Daag jezelf uit en laat je creativiteit de vrije loop! Dit traject biedt je de unieke kans om met generatieve AI, speculatief design en andere technologieën te experimenteren. Ontwikkel je eigen ideeën, leer van anderen en draag bij aan een innovatief project. Samen onderzoeken we de impact van technologie op menselijkheid en creëren we een toekomst waarin mens en machine samensmelten.

🛠️ Hoe ziet het traject eruit?

We beginnen met een make-a-thon van 18 tot 20 oktober 2024 in de Makerspace O.666 in Oostende. Tijdens deze drie dagen ga je praktisch aan de slag met technologieën en ontwikkel je een toekomstbeeld waarin mens en technologie harmonieus samenleven.

Na de make-a-thon komen we wekelijks of tweewekelijks samen om ons concept verder uit te werken. 
Gedurende deze sessies van ongeveer drie uur grijpen we de kans om samen te experimenteren en verder te werken aan de technologische en artistieke aspecten van het project.

Op het For Real Festival (29 en 30 november 2024) presenteren we de voortgang van het CODE HART-project en verzamelen we feedback van het publiek. Dit festival biedt een unieke gelegenheid om de thema’s van realiteit en technologie verder te verkennen met een grotere groep mensen.

Bij een geslaagd traject werken we toe naar de première van CODE HART op 21 maart 2025, waar we het resultaat van ons maandenlang onderzoek kunnen presenteren. Deze voorstelling zal een unieke, immersieve ervaring bieden waarin de grenzen tussen mens en machine vervagen en we het publiek hierin onderdompelen.

What is CODE HART?

In a world where technology and humanity are becoming increasingly intertwined, CODE HART invites you to join an exploratory journey. Together, we will work towards the premiere of an innovative theater production. In the months leading up to this performance, we will develop new ideas and concepts that explore the boundaries between humans and technology.

🌍 Theme: humanity in a future full of technology and metahumans

Imagine it’s the year 2125. The world is inhabited by humans and metahumans—artificially created beings who look human but are made through technology. What does it mean to be human in such a society? How does the rise of metahumans affect our understanding of ourselves and our relationships?

Our project, inspired by the book Echo Boy by Matt Haig, explores these questions and envisions a future where technology increasingly influences us. Together, we aim not just to create dystopian or utopian futures, but to develop a protopian future—a realistic vision where humanity and technology coexist harmoniously.

🛠️ What does the project look like?

We’ll begin with a make-a-thon from October 18 to 20, 2024 at the Makerspace O.666 in Ostend. During these three days, you’ll work hands-on with technologies and develop a vision of a future where humans and technology coexist in harmony.

After the make-a-thon, we will meet weekly or bi-weekly to further develop our concept. During these sessions, which last about three hours, we’ll have the opportunity to experiment together and collaborate deeply on the technological and artistic aspects of the project.

At the For Real Festival (November 29 and 30, 2024), we’ll present the progress of the CODE HART project and gather feedback from the audience. This festival offers a unique opportunity to further explore the themes of reality and technology.

If the project is successful, we will work towards the premiere of CODE HART on March 21, 2025, where we will present the result of our months of research. This performance will offer a unique, immersive experience where the boundaries between humans and machines blur.
