Lab op locatie: Maker Faire Gent!!!

Het lab zal deze avond gesloten zijn, maar geen zorgen. We maken er samen een uitstap van! We verzamelen om 18:00 bij Nerdlab en vertrekken richting de Arsenaal Site Gent.

🚲 Met de fiets ben je er al in 8 minuten
🚶 Te voet is het ongeveer 30 minuten wandelen
🚋 Of neem het openbaar vervoer: tram T2 (richting Melle Leeuw) of bus 9B (ongeveer 20 minuten)

We spreken af om 18:20 aan de ingang van de Arsenaal Site, waarna we samen de Maker Faire Gent zullen ontdekken!

Dit jaar is extra bijzonder, want we stellen met trots twee boeiende projecten voor:

The lab will be closed this evening, but don’t worry. Let’s make a night out of it! We’ll meet at 6 pm at Nerdlab and head to the Arsenaal Site in Ghent.

We’ll meet at 6.20 pm at the entrance to the Arsenaal Site, after which we’ll explore Maker Faire Gent together!

This year is extra special, as we’re proud to present two exciting projects:

🚀 Alt Ctrl – rolstoel-racegame

Ons team Alternative Controllers onderzoekt hoe je games op een andere manier kan besturen. Met sensoren op een rolstoel en zelfontwikkelde software creëren we een unieke racegame-ervaring. Benieuwd hoe dat werkt? Kom zeker eens testen en ontdek onze 3D-geprinte oplossingen!

Our Alternative Controllers team is exploring new ways to control games. Using sensors on a wheelchair and software we’ve developed ourselves, we’re creating a unique racing game experience. Curious to see how it works? Be sure to come and try it out and discover our 3D-printed solutions!

♻️ Plastic Fantastic

Wat als afval geen einde is, maar een begin? Samen met De Creatieve STEM en Odisee geven we oude plastics – zoals wegwerpcamera’s – een tweede leven. Van meubels tot gadgets: dit project toont hoe creativiteit en duurzaamheid hand in hand gaan.

What if waste isn’t the end, but the beginning? Together with De Creatieve STEM and Odisee, we’re giving old plastics – such as disposable cameras – a second life. From furniture to gadgets: this project shows how creativity and sustainability go hand in hand.

Maar er is meer! But there’s more! 

Op vrijdagavond ontdekken we ook de spectaculaire Race Night, waar het Belgisch Kampioenschap Power Tool Drag Racing centraal staat. Verwacht geen gewone races, maar een knotsgek spektakel met zelfgebouwde machines aangedreven door… power tools!

Makers uit heel het land nemen het tegen elkaar op in een reeks spannende duels. Wie scheurt als eerste over de finish? En wie wint de titel van meest waanzinnige Wacky Racer?

Dit is hét moment om samen op pad te gaan, inspiratie op te doen en je te laten verrassen door wat makers allemaal kunnen.

Kom langs, breng vrienden mee en beleef een avond vol creativiteit en actie! 🚀

On Friday evening, we’ll also be experiencing the spectacular Race Night, where the Belgian Power Tool Drag Racing Championship takes centre stage. Don’t expect ordinary races, but a madcap spectacle featuring homemade machines powered by… power tools!
