Sometimes you want to be able to touch memories

"Sometimes You Want to Touch Memories" explores the significance of textiles in moments of farewell and loss. Together with individuals who have lost loved ones, I sought a way to transform the textiles they had kept from their deceased relatives.

The focus was on integrating these preserved textiles into people’s everyday clothing, giving the fabric—and the memories it holds—a new, active role in the lives of the bereaved. This process allowed the preserved textiles to be recontextualized, turning them into meaningful and tangible connections to the past. The project highlights the power of material objects to preserve and honor memories in a deeply personal way.
