Mutation Tennis Pavilione

Cfeldman offers us a unique perspective on how digital technology can contribute to sustainable, human-centered architecture.

We present a fascinating talk about redesigning a 1982 pavilion.

This project investigates how digital 3D architectural sketches can improve the building's relationship with natural light, ventilation and the environment. By replacing the opaque panels with more transparent or translucent materials, the pavilion becomes more connected to the surrounding park, promoting natural lighting and ventilation. This could also significantly reduce energy consumption.

The presentation will feature videos comparing the current bunker-like state of the pavilion with the proposed improvements, as well as looking at a similar project at an academy elsewhere in the world. In addition, ideas are proposed to transform a public space in Ghent into a more hospitable environment for sports enthusiasts.
