The installation GRID is part of a work series titled Patterns, created by media artist Marie Seelen. More than 700 meters of white, hand-sewn tension belts form an architectural structure that reveals our complex inner pattern system. Within the installation this otherwise intangible network becomes accessible, touchable, and inviting as viewers can walk through it and immerse themselves in the artwork.

Connections – Structures – Networks – Patterns.
We are individuals, shaped partly by our actions and reactions. Our inner selves are connected to our outer selves, and vice versa.
Its design is based on three-dimensional grids that illustrate the membranes of objects, architectures, landscapes, and living beings in computer programs. Just as we humans grow, learn, change, and adapt, so does the installation.
It is intentionally designed to mutate and transform each time it is set up in a new space. By adding or removing material and arranging it differently, the artwork breathes and expands—just like our inner network.
