Anonieme Ceremonies

Anonymous Ceremonies is a participatory theater piece that was performed during the Overlopers section of the Shakespeare Is Dead festival and Par Hasard x NTGent. It explores the theme of loss in the broadest sense.

An intense and personal experience that is universal. Ceremonies are practices that can provide a sense of stability and security. Mourning is linked to a ceremony, but after the loss many ceremonies follow that are linked to other life events. How are these life moments affected by the grieving process?

Emerald Liu is a Sino-Belgian writer whose work has appeared in magazines such as nY, Deus Ex Machina and Model Stories. Her poetry can be read in Capsule Stories, the Low Countries, and Poetry Pacific. She previously appeared on stage at the Watou Arts Festival, Night of History, and Order of the Day. In 2022 she was invited to participate in the writing residency in Paris by deBuren and Pan Asian Stories by PAC. She is currently a poetry editor at Kluger Hans and part of the writers' collective Hyster-x.
